Y-MUN
Advisor Orientation Slide Show
Advisor
Responsibilites
The adult advisor is
responsible for the behavior of their students and compliance with all
program deadlines. It is highly recommended that adult advisors assist
their students in preparation for the program. Advisors should meet as
a delegation on a regular basis to ensure that students are clear on
program expectations and are fully prepared for the conference. Country
& topic research are a priority in preparing students in order
to complete the required documents (position papers & draft
resolutions). Delegate preparation should include discussions on
respect for themselves, peers, and advisors as well as the academic
development and preparation.
Advisors are assigned to a
committee assignment during the conference in January. At the
conference, Advisors will be asked to fulfill their selected duty, in
addition to supervising their delegates. Advisors are requested to
assist delegates who may have questions or concerns during the course
of the conference. All Advisors are required to remain in the hallway
for a minimum of 30 minutes after curfew to ensure that students remain
in the rooms and are quiet.
